The Lyretail Anthias is an easy species to care for and maintain so it is recommended as a good fish for beginner and expert aquarists alike. However, upon introduction to the tank a period of caution should be maintained with more aggressive fish in the tank. The Lyretail Anthias is hermaphroditic. They are best kept in groups of one male and several females. If the dominant male dies, the next largest female will morph into a male and assume leadership of the group.
The Lyretail Anthias is reef safe and invertebrate safe. The Lyretail Anthias can grow to be 6 inches long, and should be kept in a tank no smaller than 50 gallons in kept individually, and no less than 90 gallons if keeping a group, it is also best to have plenty of live rock providing it places to hide.
