The Royal Gramma, Gramma loreto, is a bicolored fish with its front half purple and its back half a bright orange or yellow. It is one of the most recognizable species of Basslet in the aquarium trade. It is also a great fish for beginner aquarists as it is hardy, easy to care for, and friendly. They prefer tanks with plenty of live rock creating ledges and caves for it to hide in. They are generally peaceful but will amusingly chase away other fish trying to explore their favorite caves. The Royal Gramma will grow to be 3 inches, and should be kept in a tank no less than 20 gallons if kept individually. But since they are a peaceful species, they can be kept in pairs and even groups. If keeping pairs or groups, they should be kept in a tank no smaller than 50 gallons. The Royal Gramma can be a beneficial member of your tank as well as they are known to remove ectoparasites from the bodies of other fishes. They are carnivorous, and should be fed a diet of Brine shrimp, Mysis shrimp, Crustacean flesh, and other meaty preparations. The Royal Gramma is one of those fish you just can't go wrong with. They will thrive in a temperature range 72-78°F and a pH of 8.1-8.4.

Beautiful fish. But it is very shy for the first few days. Couldn't even find it 2 days straight. 4th day it is getting along great with everything now.

Great little guy. Great color, eats well and once accustomed to the tank, is out 90% of the time even with fish a lot larger than him. No aggression and great color, what else could you ask for?

Thought she wasn't going to make it when I opened the box. I acclimated her for 4 Hours and she pulled through. Took about 2 full days before she started coming out of her cave. Now she is swimming out in the open and is doing very well. Beautiful fish!

The fish was shipped extremely well, and it was a perfect addition to my reef tank. I acclimated according to the instructions, and I have had no problems with any of the fish I have received. What more can you ask for? Cheaper then my local fish store and it was delivered to my front door the next day.

This is a beautiful fish. When it came in, I had my doubts. It played in the acclimation/qt tank for several hours. I added him and she promptly swam out of sight. Ten days later, it is nearing out of the rocks to grab flake and mysis shrimp. I think she will be OK.

Awesome customer service. This was a replacement. Arrived the next day. Did the whole acclimation process. Fishes hide for a few days...now swims around in front of tank eating, looking colorful and healthy.
