The Sleeper Blue Dot Goby (Valenciennea sexguttata) is a bottom-dwelling goby that can be found among the reefs and lagoons of the Eastern Indo-Pacific Ocean. They have a pale or silver body with light blue spots between the gills and eyes. They are peaceful but may be territorial towards other of the same kind, so they should be kept singly or in bonded pairs. They sift the sand bed by filtering mouthfuls of sand and consume the detritus and micro-organisms within. Reaching a maximum size of 5 inches, they should be kept in an aquarium with at least 30 gallons, as well as with fish of similar temperament. They should be offered carnivorous preparations, such as mysis or krill regularly.
