The Orangebar Anthias (Pseudanthias engelhardi/carlsoni) can be found among reefs of the Indo-Pacific Ocean. Males have a faded pink body with orange stripe behind the gills. Reaching a maximum size of 4 inches, they should not be kept with larger, predatory fish, such as groupers or snappers. They do best in large schools, typically consisting of 7 - 9 fish. Though they are small fish, they do require plenty of space to swim, with a recommended tank size of 100 gallons. They should be fed a carnivorous diet 2 - 3 times a day, consisting of krill, mysis or brine. They are considered peaceful and do well in reef aquariums.
