The Femininus Wrasse (Anampses femininus), also known as the Blue Striped Tamarin Wrasse, is a coveted jewel among wrasse enthusiasts. They have a vibrant yellow head which slowly fades into a deep blue posterior, all covered with light blue streaks. They require a stable environment with plenty of rockwork to hide among and space to swim. Their tankmates should be of similar size and temperament. Their diet, which is carnivorous by nature, should consist of vitamin-enriched mysis, krill or brine, and should be fed 2-3 times a day; due to this diet, it is not recommended to keep A. femininus with prized crustaceans. They reach a maximum size of 9 inches and should be kept in an aquarium with at least 120 gallons. Lids are recommended, as some wrasses have been known to jump.
