The Black-Bar Chromis can be found among reefs and lagoons of the Western Pacific Ocean, near Indonesia. They have a golden body with a white caudal fin and a solid black stripe running from the dorsal to the anal fin. They prefer to be in larger groups of five or more and should have plenty of live rock to hide in. While they only reach a maximum of 2 inches, they do require some room to swim. They are not recommended for any tank under 30 gallons and should be kept with fish of similar size and temperament. They eat a variety of foods, including frozen mysis or krill, small live crustaceans, algae, and flakes or pellets.
