The Scissortail Damsel, Chromis atrilobata, also known as the Scissortail Chromis, are a schooling damselfish species native to the reefs of the eastern Pacific Ocean ranging from the Gulf of California down to Peru.
They feature a muted grey/green body with a characteristic black forked tail. Compared to other damselfish species, the Scissortail Damsel is peaceful and not territorial. They are best kept in large groups and make for great beginner fish for their hardiness, ease of care, and resilience.
