The Scaly Reef Chromis (Chromis lepidolepis) can be found among lagoons and reefs of the Indo-Pacific Ocean. They have a beige or brown body with a light blue coloration in their eye and black tips along their fins. They reach a maximum size of 3 inches and do well in small groups or schools. They have a carnivorous diet of small crustaceans and should be fed a variety of carnivorous foods, such as mysis, brine and krill. They do well in peaceful tanks and can be kept in a reef aquarium. They should not be housed with larger predatory fish, as they may be considered food.
