Randall's Assessor Basslet (Assessor randalli) has a dark black/blue body with vibrant colors on its fins. They can be found among reefs in the Philippines, with some coming from the coast of Japan. They are shy and relatively peaceful fish, only territorial around their dens, which they use for cover when intimidated. They eat primarily shrimp and other small crustaceans found among the reef.
