The Hutomoi Anthias (Pseudanthias hutomoi) is an elusive fish found among the reefs of the Indo-Pacific Ocean. They have sparse populations around the Philippines and are a rare find in the marine life trade. Males have orange or red bodies with purple splotches and a yellow dorsal fin, while females are a light pink with white spots near their dorsal region. They do well in reef aquariums, reaching a maximum size of 4 inches, and should be kept in a harem, consisting of 1 male and 2-3 females. They are carnivores, typically feeding on small crustaceans. Frozen mysis and other carnivorous preparations should be provided regularly.
