The Spiny Box Puffer (Chilomycterus schoepfii), also known as the Striped Burrfish, can be found among the Atlantic Ocean. They have a light brown body with dark stripes. Their spikes and bellies are a golden yellow, which can help intimidate predators when threatened. They feed on a variety of carnivorous foods, including mollusks and fish, but prefer crustaceans. Crustaceans or mollusks with shells, such as prawn or clams, should be feed occasionally to help wear down their beak. They are typically peaceful, but may nip at long fins of slower moving fish. They do best in large fish only aquariums with fish of similar size and temperament, as they will feed on any invertebrates in a reef system.
