The Royal Pencil Wrasse (Pseudojuloides severnsi), also known as Severn's Pencil Wrasse, can be found among reefs in the Indo-Pacific Ocean. They have a vibrant green body with blue horizontal stripes, bright yellow eyes, and purple stripes along the face. They feed on a variety of invertebrates, including flatworms and small crustaceans, such as amphipods. They reach a maximum size of 5 inches and can be kept in either a reef or fish only system with at least 70 gallons. They should not be kept with small prized crustaceans, such as Pom Pom crabs, and should not be kept with larger predatory fish, such as lionfish or groupers. They do best if kept singly or in a bonded pair.
