The Peppermint Basslet (Serranus pulcher) is a recently discovered fish off of the coast of Africa. They have vibrant red bodies with white designs around their mid-section. Designs and coloration may vary depending on the individual fish though. Though they reach a maximum size of 3 inches, they can be rather aggressive and territorial, so they should be kept with larger, but less aggressive fish. It is recommended to not keep multiple, as they may be aggressive towards one another. They should be fed a variety of carnivorous preparations, such as mysis, brine and other meaty foods.
