The Blue Ricordea Mushroom, Ricordea sp., is a species of mushroom coral that is an excellent mushroom for beginner aquarists as it is easy to care for and raise in a home aquarium. They are also commonly known as Flower Mushroom Corals due to their beautiful colorations in greens, reds, oranges, and pinks. This particular specimen is more wholly colored in reds and oranges making it quite a spectacular specimen to behold in a reef tank. In caring for the Blue Ricordea Mushroom, it is necessary to have the proper tank specifications: low waterflow is best with moderate to high lighting levels as well as a bottom placement in the tank. You will not need to feed the Blue Ricordea Mushroom anything in particular as they receive most of their nutrients through the photosynthetic ability of micro zooxanthellae that inhabit the coral.
I am very happy with my Ricordea Blue Mushroom Polyp. It has gorgeous color and has thrived in my nano reef since placing it there. I was hoping for a larger specimen but I am happy nonetheless.
Is a beautiful specimen, is a medium darker blue sort of a mix between royal and a hint of sky/real. Was a rather small polyp but docking to 4 stars because it wasnt attached to any rock on arrival, so being so small it was like working with a slippery dime to get it attached and mounted. Granted I also was more noob at mounting frags at the time but still. Grab when they have a great sale it's a nice contrast color in the tank especially if you can get a colony going.
