If you come across any wrasse with multiple spots all over its large white body, there are chances it would be the Macropharyngodon Meleagris. The Macropharyngodon Meleagris or leopard wrasse is commonly called the Guinea Fowl Wrasse. It originates from the reefs and sand flats of the Indian Ocean and the Pacific Ocean. A female leopard wrasse features a white body with a number of black or brown irregular spots over its body. A female fish of this family is quite easy to identify due its unusual yellow fins. It is always recommended to keep these leopard wrasses in a well-established aquarium with a capacity of 50 gallons or more. You can add a couple of live rocks and a layer of live sand to maximize their activity within the aquarium. It is also noted that a leopard wrasse can survive upon anything from frozen Mysis shrimp, frozen brine shrimp, marine flakes to marine pellet foods.
