The Freckled Hawkfish, Paracirrhites forsteri, also known as Forster's Hawkfish, Blackside Hawkfish, or the Freckle Faced Hawkfish, features a beautiful red and white body with vibrant red spots across its cheeks and face. There is a dark black splotch towards its anal fin that fades into its red upper half. Juveniles are more of a yellow color and mold into its adult coloration. 
The Freckled Hawk is disease resistent making it hardy when cared for properly.

Freckled Hawkfish Care Facts: 
  • best kept in tanks of at least 75 gallons with plenty of live rock hiding places
  • they may eat small ornamental inverts, small fish but will not nip on corals or clams
  • it may become territorial with other aggressive fish species 
  • it will feed on a varied carnivorous diet 
  • best not to be kept with small timid fish that might become the Freckled Hawk's prey
