Fisher's Angelfish, Centropyge fisheri, is commonly referred to as the Fisheri Angel, Fisher's Dwarf Angelfish, Orange Angelfish or Yellowtail Angelfish. With its orange body and thin sapphire-blue outline highlighting the belly and anal fin, it makes a great fish for any aquarium. The Fisheri Angelfish can grow to be 4" in length, and requires a tank of at least 30 gallons. The tank should be cleverly decorated with plenty of hiding places; and live rocks that encourage the growth of algae on which it can feed in between meals. It is best to keep Fisher's Angelfish singly, so make sure not to house it with any other Angelfish to avoid aggression and territory issues, but otherwise will get along with other smaller and peaceful tank mates. Fisher's Angelfish may be found nipping over the stony and soft corals, sessile invertebrates, and clam mantles, that's why it is considered reef safe, but with caution. Since Fisher's Angelfish is very difficult to distinguish male from female, it becomes hard to breed this species in captivity. Fisher's Angelfish should be given a diet that includes Spirulina, marine algae, high-quality angelfish preparations, Mysis Shrimp, Brine Shrimp or Scallops, frozen Shrimp, and other meaty preparations. Fisher's Angelfish thrives well in a temperature rage of 72-78° F and pH of 8.1-8.4.
