The Dr. Seuss Soapfish (Belonoperca pylei) or Red Spotted Soapfish, is a very elusive fish. Only found in deep-water reefs in the Indo-Pacific Ocean, this predator reaches a total length of 3.5 inches. They hide among coral awaiting prey, then ambush attack crustaceans and small fish. They need plenty of live rock to hide among, and should be kept away from prized invertebrates and crustaceans. They require a meat based diet, and would benefit greatly from the use of vitamins or supplements.
