They have a very dark body with two white stripes and orange or yellow highlights around the perimeter of their fins and underside. In the wild, clownfish need an anemone to survive; in the home aquarium though, they can thrive without. Though some may prefer to have an anemone host, it is not necessary. They should be fed a variety of foods, including mysis, krill, or other carnivorous preparations, as well as occasional seaweed or plant-based foods. They reach a maximum size of 5 inches and should be kept in an aquarium of at least 40 gallons with fish of similar temperament.
