The Sharpnose Puffer, Canthigaster janthinoptera, also known as the Honeycomb Puffer, features an elongated snout that it uses to pick out its prey - usually small invertebrates. They have a beautiful honeycomb patterned body with various shades of yellow, brown, and orange with electric blue spots. They will scavenge for small inverts in the tank or will readily eat prepared meaty foods. They often will grind on shells to wear down their growing teeth. The Sharpnose Puffer may become agitated and expand when transferred via a net, so be sure to use a container instead.
