The Scarlet Pin Stripe Wrasse (Pseudocheilinus evanidus), also known as the Secretive, Striated or Scarlet Wrasse, is a beautiful, small wrasse found among the Indo-Pacific Ocean. They have a vibrant, deep red body with thin horizontal stripes, and occasional blue detailing, such as on the gills or fins. They do well in reef aquariums, though they should not be kept with prized, small invertebrates, such as shrimp. They are carnivorous, and should be fed a variety of meaty foods, consisting of mysis or krill. Reaching a maximum size of 3 inches, they should be kept in a tank with at least 55 gallons, and enjoy swimming among rock work and corals. They fish may show semi-aggressive behavior towards other of its own kind, so only one is recommended per tank.
