The Red Hairy Hermit Crab, Dardanus sp., is a semi-aggressive, larger hermit crab with hairy red legs. They can be aggressive towards smaller hermits and even be found nibbling on corals. They will act as scavengers, like most other hermits, and eat algal residue and detritus keeping your tank clean. They will grow very large, so extra shells are a good thing to have around for the Red Hairy Hermit Crab to move into.
