The Maxima Clam, Tridacna maxima, Its mantle contains luminescent, electric, and vibrant blue hues. This giant clam could and should be the centerpiece of your aquarium. They will attach to live rocks or nestle into sandy substrates in your aquarium and should not be forcibly removed from that spot.
The Maxima Clam should be housed with intense lighting to bring out their best colors and provide them nutrients through algae that live inside through photosynthesis. They are also filter feeders and will not need supplemental feedings if they are larger than 2 inches. Overall, the Maxima Clam is hardy, simply gorgeous and would be a welcomed addition to any home aquarium.
What a beautiful Fish! The images on the website do not do this marine life justice. The Maxima Clam was hungry and ate right away.
