The Goldsaddle Goatfish, Parupeneus cyclostomus, goes by a number of common names including the Yellow Goatfish, Bright Saddled Goatfish, Surmullet, Iosi Damu, Moana Kali, or the Gold Saddle Goatfish.
The Goldsaddle Goatfish is a solid gold colored fish from mouth to tail. It uses its long barbell to sift through sand and other soft matter to search for food. With its relatively large adult size, this Goatfish needs plenty of space to swim, as well as an abundance of hiding places. The Goldsaddle Goatfish thrives well in a temperature range of 72-78 degrees Fahrenheit and pH of 8.1-8.4. It requires a tank of not less than 135 gallons and requires quite a bit of attention that is why we recommend this only for expert aquarists. The Goldsaddle Goatfish is not that safe to keep in reef tanks as it can bother corals and sessile invertebrates.

Very nice reef fish. Goldsaddle Goatfish cleans detritus in the live rock. Doesn't intrude on the reef. Easy keeper.
