Golden Headed Sleeper Goby Care Facts

Care Level: Easy
Temperament: Peaceful
Diet: Carnivore
Reef Safe: Yes
Minimum Tank Size: 30 gallons
Max Size: 6 inches
The Golden Headed Sleeper Goby, Valenciennaea strigata, features a beautiful white colored body with bright golden yellow head. They are very peaceful and can be housed with other peaceful fish in a reef tank setting, but may become territorial towards other blennies, gobies or dartfish in smaller tanks.

Gobies tend to stay mainly towards the bottom of the tank, burrowing and sifting through the sand. However, this goby is also a known jumper, so a tightly fitting lid is suggested. Diet should include a variety of frozen or live mysis shrimp and vitamin enriched brine shrimp 1-2 times daily.

What an awesome fish! I cannot believe I went 25 years of reefs keeping without one. He keeps my sand bed pristine! Playful guy... get one, better yet get two.

Pretty fish, makes a home in the sand bed, filters sand through the gills. Neat fish, great addition to the tank.
