Flagtail Shrimp Goby

Amblyeleotris yanoi

(0 Reviews)

The Flagtail Shrimp Goby (Amblyeleotris yanoi) is native to the reefs of Indonesia and other islands in the Western Pacific Ocean. They are a pale or pink color with orange vertical stripes and a yellow, arrow-shaped caudal fin. They form a symbiotic relationship with shrimp of the Alpheid family, such as pistol shrimp. They reach a maximum size of 5 inches and should be kept in with fish of similar temperament. Though they are peaceful, they may fight with others of the same species, so it is best to keep singly or in a bonded pair. They require a sandy substrate to burrow in, and should be fed carnivorous preparations, such as krill and mysis. They can jump, so a tight lid is recommended.
