The Eibli Angel, Centropyge eibli. commonly referred to as the Blacktail Angelfish, Red Stripe Angelfish, Eibl's Angel, and the Orangeline Angelfish, exhibits a unique multi-colored body. It has a silver/white body with thin red stripes, a deep red eye, yellow pectoral fins, an electric blue edging of the dorsal fin, and a jet black tail. The Eibli Angelfish is one of the most captivating species of angelfish available. They thrive best in tanks of at least 50 gallons with plenty of live rock and algae growth for grazing. Be careful as the Eibli Angel can nip at corals and small sessile inverts so they should be closely monitored if introduced into a reef tank. They should also not be housed with overly aggressive tank mates. Males and females are virtually indistinguishable.
The Eibli Angelfish will eat an omnivorous diet consisting of brine and mysis shrimp, Spirulina, marine algae, and other meaty preparations. This fish is senstitive to nitrate levels so be sure they are as close to zero as possible. Overall, the Eibli Angel is a beautiful addition to any tank.
