The Conspicuous Angelfish (Chaetodontoplus conspicillatus), also known as the Conspicillatus or Conspic Angelfish, can be found roaming the waters between southern Australia and New Caledonia. They frequent coral reefs, where they scavenge for sponges, tunicates or algae to feed on. They are highly sought after for their unique markings and rarity, which make them a valuable addition for many aquarium enthusiasts. The first juvenile specimen was found in 2016; juvenile C. conspicillatus are even more sought after by some due to their extreme rarity. As true for most Chaetodontoplus, it is not recommended for reefs with soft corals.
