The Asfur Angelfish, Pomacanthus asfur, also known as the Arabian Angelfish or the Crescent Angelfish, is an inhabitant of the Red Sea. It's stunning color combination features a dark blue to purple body and a vertical marking of yellow bisecting it's body and a yellow tail. Like many other large Angelfish, the juvenile Asfur Angelfish will display a different coloration pattern that the adult stage.

They are not reef safe as they will nip at stony and soft corals, and clam mantles, but may be kept with small polyped stony corals and somewhat noxious soft corals if kept well fed. Diet should include high quality frozen fish foods consisting of varied vegetables, spirulina, marine algae, mysis and brine shrimp, and high quality angelfish preparations containing spongiform products, 3 times daily.

An awesome little beautiful Asfur Angelfish - Red Sea who peacefully explores my large reef tank's caves. Almost always visible and active.
