The Acan Coral (Acanthastrea echinata), also known as the Echinata coral, is a Long Polyp Stony coral that can be found among many reefs across the world, most of which originating from the Indo-Pacific Ocean. They form large colonies with strong skeletal structures, and do well in the middle/low regions of the tank. They can be fed meaty foods once a week to help grow, in addition to proper lighting and flow. Medium/Low lighting and flow are best, as too much flow can damage their flesh on their skeleton, and to much lighting will cause them to retract. They should not be kept in close proximity to strong-stinging corals.
