The Striped Bristletooth Tang is commonly referred to as the Striated Surgeonfish, or Orange Lined Tang. With orange spots on the face and a forked tail, it makes a captivating addition to any tank. The Striped Bristletooth Tang needs a well decorated aquarium with plenty of hiding spots, e.g. caves and crevices to give an opportunity to carry out its natural browsing behavior in captivity. It is considered one of the best fish for controlling nuisance algae in the aquarium. The Striped Bristletooth Tang is considered aggressive towards other tangs and surgeonfish, but peaceful with other fish. It chiefly feeds on meaty foods, and is important to feed them with plenty of marine based seaweed and algae. It is not advisable to keep The Striped Bristletooth Tang in the same tank with other Acanthurus tangs such as the Powder Blue Tang, Powder Brown Tang, etc.
