The Red Fromia Starfish, Fromia sp., is truly a classic in the aquarium industry. Its characteristic red color and nicely proportioned limbs are instantly recognizable. They are advised to be kept in specific conditions: in a tank with plenty of live rock and a sandy substrate, constant salinity, away from puffers or other natural predators, and in a tank with plenty of algae and microorganisms for the starfish to eat its omnivorous diet. It is reef safe and will not harm any other species. The Red Fromia can be housed singly or with others and should never be exposed to open air during handling.
These starfish look amazing in a reef tank as there are only so many marine species with such a deep and true color of red.
