The Pintail Fairy Wrasse, Cirrhilabrus lanceolatus, is an exquisite and rare brilliantly red fairy wrasse. Its has a beautiful mosaic of vibrant reds, iridescent yellows, and glowing blues. This wrasse could undoubtedly be the centerpiece of any reef tank. Groups of Pintail Fairy Wrasses are organized into hierarchies of one dominant male and multiple females. Males are more colorful, especially during mating than females. These wrasses are also hermaphroditic meaning that when a dominant male dies, the next largest female will morph into a male. The Pintail Fairy Wrasse, like many other wrasse species, is active and requires rocks and crevices to hide. The Pintail Fairy Wrasse will look to jump so be sure to have a tightly secured lid on your tank. They will feed on meaty frozen foods as well as pellets.
