The Masked Heniochus (Heniochus monoceros) is also known as the Masked Bannerfish. It has a white body with defined black stripes and a yellow posterior, covering the caudal, anal and dorsal fins. It can be found among reefs and lagoons in the Indo-Pacific where it feeds upon polychaete worms and other benthic invertebrates. The Masked Heniochus reaches a maximum length of 9 inches and should not be kept in tanks smaller than 120 gallons. It is a peaceful fish, and should be kept with other fish of similar size and temperament. It should be monitored in a reef environment, as some have been known to nip at coral polyps. Diet may consist of frozen meaty foods, such as mysis, krill or mollusks, as well as occasional seaweed.
