The Dilectus Dottyback (Pseudochromis dilectus) is from the reefs of Sri Lanka. They have a bright orange anterior that fades into a deep indigo towards the caudal fin. They typically hide among live rock and coral, where they hunt for small invertebrates and crustaceans. They should be fed a variety of carnivorous food. They may be territorial towards other fish when near their burrows, so they should be housed with fish of similar temperament and size. They should not be kept with small prized invertebrates or larger predatory fish.
