Button Coral is a great coral for beginners, because it is hardy in nature and is easy to maintain. The Button Coral features a single, large, swelled up, translucent polyp that ruptures easily. It is best to place the Button Coral on sand, at the bottom of the aquarium, because it needs a thick sand bed. The Button Coral derives its nutrition via photosynthesis performed by the symbiotic algae that dwells inside its tissue named as zooxanthella but will also be carnivorous especially at night.
