The Black-Edge Moray Eel (Gymnothorax Saxicola) also known as the Honeycomb Moray or Ocellated Moray can be found off the coast of the Caribbean and the Central Atlantic Ocean. Their body is a light tan color is covered by a dark brown honeycomb pattern and black edges along their dorsal. They frequent rocky outcroppings or beds of seagrass where they hunt primarily for crustaceans, as well as occasional fish. They reach a maximum size of 3 feet and should be housed in a minimum tank size of 185 gallons with plenty of live rock to hide among. While they do not pose a direct threat to corals, they are typically housed in large FOWLR aquariums as they can eat small fish and crustaceans. Feed them a duet of live and frozen thawed marine animals such as shrimp, clams, squid, and small fish such as silver-sides.
