The Purple Flat Blade Gorgonian, Pterogorgia guadalupensis, is found in the wild in the Caribbean and features small polyps on the edges of the coral with a beautiful purple color throughout. They are a hardy gorgonian that should not come into contact with other corals or anemones. They prefer medium lighting with moderate waterflow. Sometimes, the Purple Flat Blade Gorgonian will need to shed its waxy film (much like a Sarcophyton sp. toadstool leather coral). Overall, this is a beautiful aquacultured species that thrives well in the home aquarium.
