The Star Polyp, Briareum sp., is a polyped coral that usually comes in brown, tan, green, connected by a rubbery colored mat. When placed together, large colonies can create a dense carpet across rock and substrate. The Star Polyp requires tanks with moderate lighting but may develop more intense colors under intense lighting, moderate water flow, and mid to high placement. Please keep them some distance away from other corals to prevent their tentacles from harming other corals at night. They feed photosynthetically and require no supplemental feedings.
