The Red Spotted Dottyback or Cherry Dottyback Pholidochromis cerasina is a strikingly beautiful and popular saltwater fish species that originated from the reefs of the Indian Ocean. This species is renowned for its pale body and fins adorned with stunning red spots that create an attractive lined pattern, making it a visually appealing addition to any saltwater aquarium. It can grow up to 4 inches (10 cm) and requires a 40-gallon or larger aquarium with plenty of hiding places to thrive.

While the Red Spotted Dottyback is an excellent reef fish, it may eat small ornamental shrimp, so it's recommended to keep them with larger and more robust fish. As a carnivore, they require a diet rich in protein, including finely chopped fresh or frozen marine fish, squid, mysis shrimp, vitamin-enriched brine shrimp, and frozen saltwater carnivore diets fed 2 - 3 times daily.
