Montipora Coral, Montipora sp., is one of the most popular SPS corals in the trade. They feature bright body colors, a much hardier nature than cousins the Acropora corals, and come in a wide variety of growth morphs.
Though they are not aggressive, they should not be put close to other corals that may sting it, otherwise they will be easily overtaken by other coral colonies. Montipora Corals thrive best in strong light, moderate to high waterflow, and near the middle to top of the aquarium.
Montipora can be very brittle so take extra caution when moving them, and fragging them. Be sure to save any small pieces that fall off as they will continue to grow where they land in the tank.
