The Lightning Whelk Snail,  Busycon sp. is indigenous to the Caribbean, the Lightning Whelk Snail are voracious predators and will hunt other snails and bi valves as this is their main source of prey. As Snails are prodigious climbers, it is highly recommended to have a closed lid as the snail can climb out. Not recommend for reef tanks as they will hunt other snails and clams these snails need a regular diet of either snails, clams, or meaty foods to live. They also grow up to 8 inches, and can live up to 20 years so a large tank of at least 50 gallons is reccomended.
