Gold Angelfish

They respond to feeding routines and will recognize the hand that feeds them. They're territorial enough to establish personality but not so aggressive that they're incompatible with peaceful community setups. They thrive in planted tanks where they can claim territories without constant conflict, and they're gentle enough to coexist with larger rooted plants.

Their adult size of six inches, measured from fin tip to fin tip on that iconic triangular profile, means height matters as much as footprint. A single fish can manage in 20 gallons, but a small group genuinely benefits from 30 or more gallons in a tall-format tank. Strong currents work against them. Their natural habitat is slow-moving, heavily planted water, and moderate flow keeps them comfortable and confident. With consistent conditions and attentive care, a Gold Angelfish can live a full decade, becoming a long-term companion that develops its own quirks and recognizable behaviors unique to your tank.
