The Fingered Dragonet is commonly referred to as the Fingered Dragonet, or Sailfin Dragonet. With its unique body form the Fingered Dragonet makes a captivating addition to a home tank. It features lengthened fins and a striking metallic blue spotted dorsal fin, hence named the Fingered Dragonet. This Dragonet requires a tank with plenty of rocks that allows picking up small crustaceans including copepods, or amphipods. The Fingered Dragonet is considered very slow fish and since its mouth is very small, it can be out-competed for food sources when housed with large fast tank mates. The Fingered Dragonet requires live food such as copepods, and amphipods along with some frozen artemia that can be introduced as a supplement. They can take time to acclimatize in captivity and to adjust with the captive diet so 3-4 feedings daily are recommended. The Fingered Dragonet does not bother any sessile invertebrates and corals and is a reef safe species.
