If you're looking for an attractive and efficient algae cleaner for your reef aquarium, consider adding the Chestnut Turbo Snail to your collection. With its elegant, top-shaped shell and soft brown color accented with reddish-brown to cream patches. In the wild, they can be found tucked away in crevices and holes of reefs, cleaning away algae and detritus. In your home aquarium, the Chestnut Turbo Snail is just as hardworking and peaceful, making it an excellent addition for both beginner and advanced hobbyists.

To keep your Chestnut Turbo Snail healthy and thriving, provide them with ample hiding places and plenty of room to graze, especially amongst live rock. They will also feed on algae covering the aquarium glass, but you can supplement their diet with dried seaweed when natural food sources are insufficient. However, it is crucial to maintain adequate calcium levels as members of the Turbinidae family require calcium to build their shells. Avoid copper-based medications and high nitrate levels as the Chestnut Turbo Snail is sensitive to both. Although breeding this snail in an aquarium is challenging, you can still appreciate its beauty and cleaning prowess in your reef aquarium.
