The Yellow-Flanked Fairy Wrasse, Cirrhilabrus ryukyuensis, has a multitude of common names including the Blueheaded Fairy Wrasse, Purplehead Fairy Wrasse, and Purplehead Parrotfish. As its abundance of common names suggest, the Yellow-Flanked Fairy Wrasse features a wide array of bright and vibrant colors including blue sides and a yellow patch behind their fins.
The Yellow-Flanked Fairy Wrasse is best kept in a tank of at least 50 gallons with plenty of live rock hiding places and a sandy substrate. Lids should be tightly sealed to prevent potential escapes.
They are peaceful with other fish, corals, and inverts making them a great choice for a community tank. Hogfish species may harm them, however.
