The Blue & Gold Blenny, Ecsenius lividanalis, has a blue head, yellow body and a yellow iris, which is commonly referred to as the Dusky form; another is pale blue with yellow dorsal fin and tail. They are hardy and can be housed with other peaceful fish in a reef tank setting, but may become territorial towards other blennies, gobies or dartfish in smaller tanks.

This blenny will stay mainly towards the bottom of the tank, searching for algae to graze on in between meals. Diet should include a variety of mysis shrimp and vitamin enriched brine shrimp as well as spirulina, marine algae, seaweed and algae based foods 2-3 times daily.
