The Blastomussa Merleti Coral, Blastomussa merleti, features a neon green center with small sized polyps that cover the skeleton. Found in the Indo-Pacific regions, the Blasto is a hardy coral that prefers moderate lighting and waterflow. As it does not possess sweeper tentacles it is a very reef safe species. They are best kept towards the bottom of a sandy-bottomed tank where they feed photosynthetically. This is a gorgeous mainstay of the marine home aquarium and thrives well in most conditions.
