Looking to keep your aquarium sparkling clean? The Top Crown Snail, also known as the Trochus Snail, is your answer! These small and efficient creatures are highly adept at eliminating algae, including hair algae, cyanobacteria, and diatoms. With their preference for nuisance algae and their ability to graze on it effectively, the Top Crown Snail is a valuable resource for maintaining pristine glass in your aquarium.
To ensure the well-being of these snails, provide them with a well-established aquarium featuring ample hiding places and enough room to explore. Keep a watchful eye on them, as they can struggle to right themselves if they fall or get flipped upside down. It's crucial to maintain optimal water quality, as high nitrate levels can be harmful to these sensitive invertebrates. Moreover, refrain from using copper-based medications, as Top Crown Snails cannot tolerate them. If algae levels are insufficient, supplement their diet with vegetable-based tablet foods or dried seaweeds.
