There are few fish that exhibit such a brightly colored body, especially in purple. These highly coveted fish have long cigar-shaped bodies with a continuous doral fin. Their forked tails have dark red margins that accent their beautiful color. These fish can be kept in pairs, groups, or singly and prefer lots of rockwork and a sandy bottom. They are a great community fish, but need a secure closed aquarium top to keep them from jumping out. They should be kept in tanks greater than 90 gallons.
